2025 RULES AND REGULATIONS
GRAND CASCADES SWIMMING POOL

1. Admittance only to residents in good standing and their accompanied guests. Residents of Grand Cascades (GC) who have not paid their HOA dues cannot be considered guests and will not be permitted to use the pool.
2. All usage is “AT YOUR OWN RISK”, regardless of the presence, or absence, of a lifeguard.
3. Pool hours are 5:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. during the summer season (dates published separately); no unauthorized persons will be permitted to enter the pool area at any other time. Trespassing will be subject to fines.
4. During pool operating hours, and with a lifeguard on duty, children under 13 are NOT permitted to be inside the pool gate, under any circumstances, without being supervised by a parent, guardian, or identifiable responsible individual who is 16 or older.
5. During pool operating hours, but with no lifeguard on duty, no one under the age of 18 may swim unless directly accompanied by an adult GC homeowner, who serves as a supervisor. No solo swimming is permitted at any time, by anyone.
6. The number of guests allowed is limited to six per family unless previous arrangements have been made with the Pool Committee or the GC Board of Directors. The ratio of children (ages 13-under) to parents or other responsible adults will not be greater than 5:1
7. Group events, which exceed either ten guests or exceed the adult/child ratio of 1:5 must be registered per the “Grand Cascades Pool Party Agreement”. Any additional lifeguard hours/charges which result from unregistered or understaffed pool events will be charged to the resident “host”. Members may download the Agreement at www.grandcascades.com.
8. For safety reasons, the gates are to remain closed at all times and must not be propped open. Members are issued electronic key fobs to access the gates during pool operation hours. Members should have their keys with them and be able to show them to the lifeguards on duty, a member of the pool committee, or the HOA board to demonstrate membership.
9. All members are required to familiarize their children with the pool rules. Parents are responsible for their children, whether that parent is at the pool or not. Members are responsible for the actions of their guests.
10. For safety reasons there can be no running, pushing, jumping on others, jumping off the lifeguard chair, dunking or holding others under the water, or loitering in the bathroom area.
11. No diving in the shallow area. No spitting, no nose-blowing in the water, no loud music, profanity or vulgar language. The Pool Committee, GC Board of Directors, and Lifeguards, have the authority to disallow exuberant play that may interfere with the enjoyment of the pool by others.
12. Standing on or jumping off the lifeguard stand is strictly prohibited and is punishable by expulsion from the pool and a $100 fine to the member’s account.
13. Any food items taken to the pool or immediate area surrounding the pool are the responsibility of the homeowner to clean up and remove once finished. No glass, bottles, chinaware nor items in breakable containers are allowed in the pool/picnic area. Consumption of food is not allowed in the pool or while sitting on the pool edge. Gum is not permitted in the pool area. All trash must be placed in the receptacles provided.
14. No alcoholic beverages are allowed for anyone under the age of twenty-one (21). A person showing signs of intoxication will be denied use of the facilities and is subject to discipline and/or expulsion.
15. Lifeguard break period will be the last 15 minutes of each hour.
16. Smoking in the pool area, picnic, play, clubhouse, fitness room, nature trail, or parking lot areas is strictly prohibited.
17. No pets (other than “service dogs”), bicycles, skateboards, scooters or other vehicles are allowed in the pool area.
18. No one is permitted to swim with open or infected wounds, contagious infections, or diseases.
19. Children who are not 100% toilet trained must wear a swim diaper AND vinyl diaper cover in order to be allowed in the zero-entry or main pool.
20. Cut-offs and other improper or indecent swimwear are not allowed in the pool.
21. Lifeguards on duty, Pool Committee members, or the GC Board of Directors will handle subjects not covered by the above rules. If no lifeguards are on duty, GC adult homeowners should assist in enforcing these rules and help ensure the safety of those present.
22. The pool cannot be reserved for exclusive use.
23. Members are not allowed to reserve chairs, sunbeds, or tables by placing towels or other objects on them. Lifeguards are permitted to remove towels if their owners are not present at the pool.
24. The health and safety of members and their guests is ultimately their own responsibility. The Pool Committee and GC Board of Directors assume no responsibility. Members or their guests can have no claim against the Pool Committee or Grand Cascades Board of Directors for any accident or injury. The Community Association and Grand Cascades Board of Directors are not responsible for the loss or damage of personal property.
25. The GC Board of Directors, Pool Committee & Lifeguards shall have the authority, when they deem necessary, to expel anyone at any time for misbehavior, use of abusive language, or apparent intoxication. Those individuals may not return to the Pool area until the following day. More serious infractions may result in a longer expulsion period.
26. If there are storms in the area or hail or heavy rain alters the perception of the depth of the water, the lifeguard will direct swimmers to leave the pool until it is safe to resume activities. In the event of thunderstorms, swimmers must exit the water until 30 minutes have passed after the last clap of thunder is heard.
27. No stacking (having 3+ people on shoulders) or chicken fighting.
28. No hanging on ropes or rails and no sliding down rails.
29. No big floats when crowded.
30. No noodle fighting.
31. Be aware that the area in and around our clubhouse, pools and pool decking are always monitored by cameras.

NOTE: Non-resident swimmers and their parent(s) or guardian(s) who are present for Swim Team practice or events such as meets are expected to leave all GC amenities and facilities immediately after their practices and may not enter the premises more than 30 minutes before their practice times (unless as a guest of a GC resident).
